Abstract

Minium Inhibitory Concentrations (MIC) of Several antibiotics against Chlamydia trachomatis, including 5 control strains and 28 clinical isolates in Korea were determind in 96 well tissue culture cruster. The concentrations of antibiotics for
completely
inhibiton of inclusion production in McCoy cell were (control/clinical isolates): Erythromycine 0.15¡2.5/0.15¡5 g/ml, Doxycyclin 0.03¡0.6/0.007¡0.6 g/ml, pipemidic acide 0.6¡0.15¡5 g/ml, and Enoxacin 12¡50/3¡100 g/ml. There was no
difference of
MIC about the all drugs detween control and clinical isolates in Korea. Not expensive erythromycine and doxycycline are still highly effective against Chlamydia trachomatis, but expensive quinolone, pipemidic acid and enoxacine have no effective
